OncoSeek®
Multi cancer early detection test
OncoSeek® is a test to find cancer. The OncoSeek® test uses a small sample of blood. It will tell you if you have a low, medium, or high probability of having cancer. The cancers it looks for are breast, colon, liver, lung, lymphoma, esophagus, ovarian, pancreas, and stomach cancers.
How OncoSeek® works
OncoSeek® is a Machine Learning algorithm that uses a simple blood test which can detect 9 high-mortality cancer types by analysing the concentration of a selected number of protein tumour markers.
The algorithm analyses the specific relations between markers and clinical factors, drastically reducing false positives when compared to the standard analysis of multiple, individually judged, protein tumour markers.
The average sensitivity is 51.7% (37.1% to 77.6%) with a specificity of 92.9% (1). The test also gives an indication for the tissue of origin which guides the following diagnostic steps.
The OncoSeek Process
The OncoSeek process optimally leverages the existing infrastructure. Blood draw can be done by any health care worker. This capacity and capability is available anywhere within reasonable travel distance for the patient. Next the blood has to be transported to a lab; this can be done using locally available transport options. When using specific tubes, no specific treatment is required during transport.
A central laboratory uses a commonly available electrochemiluminescence platform to measure the protein tumor marker values. These values are input for the Machine Learning-algorithm which runs in the cloud and is operated by OncoInv. Results are electronically returned to the treating health care worker.

Who should take this test?
OncoSeek® is for people who have a higher risk of cancer. You may be at higher risk if:
- You are 50 years old or older
- You have signs or symptoms of cancer
- You have family members who had cancer
- You have certain genes that make cancer more likely
- You smoke, drink alcohol, or use other harmful substances
- You have been around harmful chemicals or radiation
- You are overweight or obese
- You have ongoing (chronic) swelling or infections
- You eat unhealthy foods that can increase cancer risk
- You have hormonal problems
- Your immune system is weak
Who should NOT take this test?
This test should not be taken by:
- Pregnant peopler
- People who are 21 years old or younger
- People who are being treated for cancer right now
- People who cannot get more tests done after a positive OncoSeek® test result. For example, they might not be able to do tests like an MRI scan.
